🔄 Guide to Transfer Microsoft 365 Family Admin Rights:
  1. Log in to the old Admin account and go to the Microsoft Family page: https://account.microsoft.com/family/home
  2. Select "Add a family member", enter the new Admin's email, choose "Family organizer", and send the invitation.
  3. The new Admin logs into their email and accepts the invitation to join the family.
  4. Once the new Admin is added, there are two ways to transfer admin rights:
    • 🔹 Option 1: The old Admin goes to family settings, scrolls to the bottom, and selects "Leave family".
    • 🔹 Option 2: The new Admin can directly remove the old Admin from the family group via the management page.
  5. The new Admin should check the family page to confirm they are the sole Family Organizer and all members are still listed.
✅ Post-transfer Checklist:
  • Ask family members to sign out and sign back in to their Microsoft accounts to refresh access rights.
  • Verify that apps like Word, Excel, and OneDrive still work normally for all members.
⚠️ Potential Issues & Fixes:

Sometimes members appear on the family/home page but not on the services/microsoft365/details page. This happens when they are still under the old Admin's sharing list.

  1. The old Admin logs in at microsoft365/details and clicks "Stop sharing".
  2. The new Admin logs into the same link and clicks "Start sharing" to re-share access.

Then verify that the member list and access rights have been correctly updated.
